Our climate crisis may at times appear to be happening slowly, but in fact it is happening very quickly-and has become a true planetary emergency. The Chinese expression for crisis consists of two characters. The first is a symbol for danger; the second is a symbol for opportunity. In order to face down the danger that is stalking us and move through it, we first have to recognize that we are facing a crisis. So why is it that our leaders seem not to hear such clarion warnings? Are they resisting the truth because they know that the moment they acknowledge it, they will face a moral imperative to act? Is it simply more convenient to ignore the warnings? Perhaps, but inconvenient truths do not go away just because they are not seen. Indeed, when they are responded to, their significance doesnt diminish; it grows. -- Al Gore

Author: Guest It is a very good book. Maybe too much focussed on the specific characteristics of the family of Al Gore. All its content is scietifically sound but an increase of 6 m in sea level is something that it is far away in the future.
Author: Guest I was delighted to see the large type in this book.
Its beautiful photography inspires the reader to
consider how beautiful and fragile our planet is.
Author: Guest All Gore is ever able to do is wallow in dark shadows of some impending crisis. It's all he has ever done. If you listen to his speeches from the 80's and 90's - so many of them are laced with some sort of crisis.
It's beyond crying "wolf" - he has been yelling "wolf" at the top of his crazed lungs for years. This book gives almost no quarter to the legions of scientists who disagree with him. It is a sad requiem on a politician whose day has come and gone. And he is the only one that doesn't know it.
Author: Guest Al Gore is making a good road to tell us the facts on Global Warming , but he is missing the fact that in 3-4 years we will have the New Ice Age coming and Billion of people on Earth will die and he is missing 40-60 % of the cause of the Global Warming. The book is good and bad. We can stop this Global Warming in one month. But we cant' do it untill we will expose the real cause of it. Think about: in one month we can stop it. Each month ( in the next 2 years )we will postpone the truth is just bad.
The movie is good and bad.
Is bad in 90% and good in 10%. He put enormous work in it , so many government agencies he is using for this ( mostly) But he is missing the main point.
He will need to change that in the next movie and this is the main point. As a government employee he will never be able to tell the truth. is going to be all the time wixh wash....
We will need to get this work from this stage and do it under an independent ( no government involvement) study.

Author: Guest It seems to take decades in our society for old habits to be broken.......Al Gore's wonderful book on the scientific and social aspects of Global Warming illustrates that we'd better "wake up and smell the coffee" much faster on this one. The book lays out the scientific evidence for climate change, intersperses some interesting personal interludes in Mr. Gore's life, and ultimately challenges us to change both ourselves and our world for the better.
This is the biggest challenge that mankind has faced, because the lurking forces of danger are slow-moving. The implication is that once passing a critical threshold, it may not be possible to reverse the trend in time to rescue life on earth.
I highly recommend this book, and hope that readers will take its message to heart before it is too late for us all!
