Author: Guest I had purchased Baby Mozart for my 4th child when he was 6 months old. He always enjoyed this video. When my 5th child was born we shared the video with her. She enjoyed it with the same enthusiam as her brother did. At 9 months I decided she needed some more of these videos...some variety. I selected Baby Einstein next. I really didn't compare it to all of the others before purchase...I wish I had. We enthusiastically put it in and my daughter did not react as enthusiastically as she always had with Baby Mozart. The language was boring in comparison to all the music and unique sounds on Baby Mozart. Immediately we purchased Baby Bach and my daughter was delighted! We alternate between Baby Bach and Baby Mozart, which are similar, but different. Ocasionally I will put Baby Einstein in for a change of pace. After reading the various reviews, I look forward to receiving other videos in the series to give my children a wider range of variety.
Author: Guest This video would be ok for an older child. The majority of the video is in different languages. They don't even give you subtitles to help the children possibly learn the other languages. There are only a few in english. The only section where you can select an English only part (DVD) they only do the alphabet and count to 20. My 7 month old is very attentive with these videos, but even he was not entertained, not even by the colors.
Author: Guest Although we limit the amount of TV our daughter watches, we let her start watching this video at 3 months for the colors and movement. She actually squealed with delight each time she watched it!
The video shows colorful graphics and toys while people say the alphabet, count to 20 or say a nursery rhyme in many languages. I only wish there were a translation for each nursery rhyme with the video.
We have several other Baby Einstein videos and this one and Baby Shakespeare are her favorite! We like the music on Baby Bach, but agree that the videography is not as good and there are too many features of Julie Clark's children.
Author: Guest The concept is ok. My 9 mo old daughter could not care less about this video and i can hardly stand to watch it either. You have no idea what they are saying in the other languages. What's going on on the screen has nothing to do with what they're saying. My advice: music & babies - these two things will keep your little one very content so you can take a little break.
Author: Guest The video was just okay - I don't think my daughter picked up any words. The other Baby Einstein videos are better and kept her attention longer. If you want your kid to learn or become used to hearing a foreign language, I recommend the Bilingual Baby series or, even better, just plain songs without the damaging effects of television -- my girl really likes the Global Village Kids Sing and Learn CDs (bilingual nursery rhymes in French, German and Spanish). They are more educational.
