The Neighborhood Animals DVD has a total running time of 74 minutes.

The Baby Einstein Neighborhood Animals DVD is organized for easy navigation. Programming maps and chapter indices are provided in the Printable Parents Guide.

The Home Theatre

The Neighborhood Animals video features playful puppet hosts and is divided into 12 vignettes each dedicated to an animal that can be found close to home. Neighborhood Animals allows you to have fun and interact with your child while exposing them to real-world images of animals and charming classical music.

Two viewing modes — Learn the Animal and Guess the Animal — make the learning challenge fun.

I purchased this video for my 13 month old son about a week ago. He can't get enough of it! Prior to watching this video, all animals were "cat" to him. He can now say "cow", "bird" and "bunny" after just a week of watching. He is captivated for the entire 30 minutes and asks to watch the video at least twice a day. He enjoys searching through his toys to find his own animals to match the ones on the screen which provides a fun game for us to play together. I can't wait until Baby Dolittle World Animals is released.

We also own other videos in this series: Baby Mozart, Baby Bach, Baby Van Gogh, and Baby Santa's Music Box. My son began watching Baby Mozart when he was only 2 months old and LOVED it. He was so animated and excited especially when the trains came on the screen. Baby Bach is good, but not as good as Baby Mozart. My son seems to prefer Mozart's music to Bach's. I do not agree with the other reviewers' comments about Julie Clark's children. I find them to be adorable and have enjoyed watching them. My son also enjoys Baby Van Gogh and Baby Santa's Music Box, but for a baby who is trying to figure out the world around him, Baby Dolittle's Neighborhood Animals is definitely the favorite right now.

My son LOVES his Baby Einstein videos--Baby Bach, Beethoven, Mozart & Shakespeare. He begs to watch them and we have recently had to set limits on his viewing. Having grown weary of watching the same ones over and over, my husband decided to buy the Neighborhood Animals video. I'm not sure at this point if my son (16 months)likes this video or not--he's only seen it 2 or 3 times, so it is a bit early to tell. He does seem to like the children singing "Old McDonald's Farm."

I, however, have a few issues with this video. I have to wonder if young children/toddlers find it confusing when Pavlov the Dog makes cow, cat, pig, etc. sounds. My son is learning which animals make which sounds, but here's this dog mooing and oinking and meowing. I also have to wonder if it is a good idea to show toddlers the clip of the mice having a food fight. I have a hard enough time getting my son to keep his food on his tray! My final gripe is: why include the otter? Why not a fish as an example of an animal on the river? Certainly more familiar to youngsters, I would think.

Of course, if my son ends up loving this video as much as he does the music-oriented ones, I'll gladly sit through this one with him!

I recently bought this video for our 2 year old daughter, who has loved the other BE videos for some time now. She absolutely loved it! She has always loved animals and so this, along with world animals are her favorites. I've actually caught myself interested in it while doing dishes even! These videos are aimed toward birth to toddler ages, however even our five year old loves this one with all the animal footage. I highly recommend it- a great way to settle down before naps, too.

I have used Baby Einstein products in past but I have found the more recent titles lacking in the entertainment quality of the older titles. My child gets bored pretty easily with them now, and actually gets a little scared with some of the segments. I am concerned that these products are being made too quickly without being tested on young children.

This video is very good. It is simple and enjoyable. My only complaint is about the sound. It is of poor quality. It sounds muffled and it is quite loud. It is mostly the music and not so much the sound effects and the child's voice that sounds bad. If the sound were better I would have given it five stars.
