Author: Guest First off, this is not a sci-fi film where it is all clean with cgi. This is a real life film with real dirt on the ground. There is a lot of grain but only if you look for it. Looking at the ground the battle resides on is where you discover the true abilities of HD. The level of detail in the surroundings is overwhelming and brings more realism to the viewing experience. Colors are saturated, but it might have been intended that way. The sound is all over the place with bullets wheezing and ricocheting everywhere. And not to mention this is one of the best war movie to date.

Author: Guest ok, First off everyone knows this is a great movie, but considering how many times it has been re-packaged for DVD over the last 5 years, you know they will be doing the ol' double dip trick again now that it's come to Blu-Ray. This is the first (Blu-ray) release and, yes, a great price from amazon for sure. I'd wait for the unrated extended (152min) cut that's available now for cheap on DVD. Be warned if u buy this one, more versions will come.

Author: Guest I first watched this movie when it first came out and it was amazing. Fastforward a few years and it comes out on Blu-ray and I have not seen it since its relaese so I figure it is a must buy. Well when I got it and popped it into my PS3 it was even better than when I saw it. The HD picture is supurb probably one of the top three pictures ive seen yet on Blu-ray. So if you are looking to get a movie with great action, an awesome story, and top notch picture quality Black Hawk Down is the movie to get. Oh yea lets not forget the great audio on this flick if you have a surround sound system I highly recommend you use it.

Author: Guest I really enjoyed this movie. It kept my interest and was entertaining. The blu-ray version is crystal clear and detailed. One of Amazon's listings shows the wrong description and actors for the movie. I would very much recomend this movie.

Author: Guest First let me say that this is one of my favorite movies. I own both the standard DVD and Blu-ray formats. After watching "The Corpse Bride" I was expecting the world. Admittingly, this was not a fair comparison, as "The Corpse Bride" is an animated movie. Visually I was not totally impressed. On first viewing, I felt as though I was watching a standard signal through an HDTV.
Hardware: Playstation 3, Sharp Aquos, using an HDMI connection.
Hopefully my option will change after watching it again.
I watched this movie a second time and now would like to change my opinion. The 3d effects are not as great as in Crank, but they are still very good. The artifacts that I think I might have been mentioning in my previous viewing might have just been style items from the movie as I didn't see many in the second viewing. This time around, I actually noticed things that I had not even picked up in any viewing (actors who are in the movie, scenes shots where people are present that I didn't recall before, etc.) I would like to give this movie another star but it won't let me. If you can't decide if you should get this movie or not, get it. The blu-ray visual effects and sound add to an already great story.
