What do bats, otters, badgers and a parrot have in common? They all get by with a little help form their friends--Bob and his can-do construction team! Wendy finds that Farmer Pickles' fence blocks the badgers' path to the stream, so she teams up with Bob to build a "badger gate" for them. Then Molly discovers a family of otters in the stream and comes up with a "mucky" solution to keep her new friends form being scared. Mr. Beasley provided a home for the bats in the belfry after his pigeons have flown the coop. Finally, Molly and J.J. are thrilled when Hamish the parrot needs a new home--their building yard is just the place for their new friend! Making friends and helping friends--it's all in a day's work!

Author: Guest I'm not too sure what the other reviews are all about on this video, but it's just great. My little one just loves watching all the stories. My only complaint is that I wish they would get different voices for some of the characters like Trixie. They just sound so whiney and they can get on a parents' nerves! The story of the equipment moving someone from their home is really cute and well done. Lofty carries a couch through the air which makes for some interesting comments from the neighbors. This one doesn't have so much of the man-bashing incidences like some of the other Bob videos. Some of them should have been called "Wendy, the Builder." I'm not sure what HIT entertainment is trying to teach our young boys with this message, but I do think it's time to stop it. This is a great idea and I hope that they proceed with more positive messages.
Author: Guest Just to update my previous review. This past weekend I received a new version of the Building Friendships DVD from HIT Entertainment. The new version has English as the default language and all the commericials that were at the beginning of the previous DVD have been moved to the end.
An excellent version of Building Friendships.
Author: Guest The DVD is not bad. My 22 month old son likes it a lot. The problem is going to be with the parents.
First of all, the DVD default language is in French, so you will most likely have to stop the DVD and switch it to English. I've tried contacting the DVD makers, but have not gotten a response yet.
The second irrating problem is that there are a lot of advertisements for different TV shows before the Bob the Builder program begins. I have to fast forward the DVD to Chapter 7 to get to Bob (Note: The French Language version has no advertisments at the beginning.)
If the makers can issue a version that has English as a default language and no advertisements at the beginning, then they will have a winner. The DVD as it is now is not building any friendships.
Author: Guest My 29 year old brother LOVED IT when i bought it for his b-day. He was so ecstatic he gave me a giant bear hug =). Who wouldnt like bob. i mean he helps the community with his bulldozer. Better than lizzie mcguire. Keep lizzie mcguire away from children under 18. Shes SO FAT! Shed break a big daddy bike one her first try.
Author: Guest My 4 year old loved seeing the new episodes on this DVD. New characters (Trix, Molly) were a nice surprise.
A couple complaints though: Default language on the DVD is French! Each time we play it we have to first go into the menu to switch to English. Maybe I got the wrong version of the DVD? And there is no easy way to get right to the Bob the Builder episodes... we have to sit through the Wiggles and other preview stuff first.
