| Bob's friend and co-worker, Wendy, is the star of the show in this installment of Nick Jr's popular animated program for preschoolers. The 45-minute feature includes four stories plus an additional four mini-adventures. The plucky blonde supervises the resurfacing of a road when Bob falls ill in "Wendy's Busy Day," saves the day when he bungles a painting job in "Wallpaper Wendy," oversees the construction of a soccer field in "Wendy's Big Game," and fixes a tennis court after Spud the scarecrow falls into wet cement in "Wendy's Tennis Match." In each story, Wendy and Bob are joined by their building machines--Dizzy the cement mixer, Lofty the crane, Muck the bulldozer, etc.--who contribute something unique to each project. Even when things go wrong, the colorful, industrious characters treat each other with respect, work together to resolve conflicts, and take time out to have a little fun after each job. --Kathleen C. Author: Guest I think this is one of the best Bob the Builder videos we have. It's pretty funny seeing how Wendy has to come to Bob's rescue when he tries to hang wallpaper. I suppose the best part of this video is that even though Wendy is a girl, she can fix things too which I think gives confidence to girls to "try" something that just might be out of the ordinary for a girl. As the daughter of a Mr. Fixit, I have learned and used many of the things I was taught as a youngster and Wendy makes it appear to be just "normal" for girls to do these things and not weird. Life puts you in different situations and sometimes the "Barbie Princess" needs to remove her crown and pick up a toolbelt, if you know what I mean! Wendy is just as comfortable fixing cement and painting a soccer field as she is in organizing the construction office. Very well done and I highly recommend this one!

Author: Guest Some of the original British only Bob the Builders had rather restrictive roles for Wendy, very stereotyped into helpless female etc. These episodes are fantastic on two levels -- Except for the wallpaper Wendy, they all feature ball games, soccer, tennis, mini golf etc. Very appealing for any little boy. AND, as a stay at home mom, who does all of the fixing around our house, I like that Wendy takes over very capably when Bob is sick, and acts like an equal partner, rather than just being a secretary sitting in the office and taking phone calls.

Author: Guest This one has largely positive stories with Wendy solving problems and in charge while Bob is sick/busy etc. The stories that involve fixing a tennis court, soccer field, etc are a great deal of fun for my 2 1/2 year old son. Very sweet, and nice to see Wendy as a capable and equal partner in Bob's business.

Author: Guest My 5 year old loves Bob and his crew. This movie is a big hit at our house. I even like it, and with some preschool videos, that just doesn't happen. But Bob and Wendy seem to bring out the best values. My son loves putting on his hardhat and playing Bob with his sisters. This video emphasizes helping each other. My kids are also soccer fans, so this was a big plus too. If you've got a small kid hooked on videos, I can really recommend this video or any from this series.
