Author: Guest Toby did a really great job in this movie; not like some other country singers. He was actually a great actor!
A woman, Angela, goes back to her hometown with her daughter, Dixie, because Angela's brother is killed in an explosion. There she sees her ex-boyfriend, Bo Price (Toby Keith); he was there because his brother died also. As Dixie gets to know her grandparents and father, she begins to like it in her mother's hometown and she enjoys writing songs with her father. There are problems with the family, but the movie has a great ending.
This movie was predictable, but enjoyable and moving.

Author: Guest I rented this one on a whim, and since I like Toby Keith, I figured at least the music would be good. What a surprise! The story is good, moving, and holds water. Toby is not bad at all as a father who has spent his life regretting his 'scared kid' decision to abandon his pregnant girlfriend. The girlfriend, Kelly Preston, hits just the right note as a daughter who never felt welcome enough to come back home, but worked hard to make a life for herself and her teenage daughter, Dixie. Lindsey Haun is just great as the kid. She's feisty and opinionated, but has been raised with manners and a healthy respect for her mom. Burt Reynolds does a great job as the grandfather who is stern and unrelenting in his disgust over his daughter running off and having her baby.
This movie was very well done and the music was good too. It evokes more of an emotional response than you would expect from something like this. We all loved it.

Author: Guest Bo Price's story goes from desolation to family and love thereof - moves at an enertaining pace, every actor in this movie did their job and did it well! Toby Keith's breakout role was exactly what I would expect from this charismatic superstar - terrific! Lindsay Haun, Kelly Preston, and Burt Reynolds all did a great job. Scotty Emerick does a song called "What's Up With That?" - and it's a pleasure to listen to as is the rest of the soundtrack. I think "Broken Bridges" showcases Toby's increible talent (hopefully he will win an Oscar for it).

Author: Guest I have always been a huge fan of Toby Keith but even more so after seeing this movie. It's a wonderful heartfelt feel good movie. My husband even loved the movie and he hates heart tugging movies...lol. It's a great movie to watch on a rainy lazy day to cuddle up in a warm blanket. I'm going to buy and I haven't bought a movie that I loved since "Something to talk about" came out on VHS.

Author: Guest I had purchased the soundtrack first, as well as watching the movie MANY, MANY times on CMT before my DVD arrived. It is addicting, perhaps because it really hits home... a story of real broken bridges that CAN be healed with time and the right effort. I've seen this movie more times already than any other in my lifetime (and I've been watching Sound of Music for YEARS!; it's that good. And I will continue to watch it over and over now that the DVD is "in hand." Toby can be rightfully proud of his movie debut; he performed like the pro he is. The cast meshed very well, and Lindsay ties it all together with "Broken," which is fast becoming one of my all-time favorite songs! Great Job done by ALL!! If you haven't bought this, BUY IT NOW... to quote Toby on the commercial, "You'll love it!" I know I do.
