The Departed [Blu-ray]

Description

Product Description
Going back to the original Ian Fleming novel, this is the first "official" film version of the first James Bond story. It excitingly illustrates Bond's rise to the rank of 007, though it fails to explain why M is again played by Judi Dench.

Craig is the best ever, PERIOD. I liked all the Bonds, even Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby! This film approches believablity; a bit of a departure from the past... Bond almost seems like a real operator. There are real men like this in the special operations world. They come from the U.S. Armed Forces, U.K. Special Bost Service, and Frømandskorpset. You will never meet them and they don't write books or tell their story in film after their service to their country...

1) I saw my first Bond movie from the back of a brand new 64" F85 Olds with my parents and grandfather at the drive-in. I was 6 since then I have seen many Bond films I fell asleep in the back before the ending. This has not happned since then... This is my favorite Bond film, even after "Live and Let Die".

2) This film is timely and Bond is relivnant.

3) They have opened the door to successful rerelease of the Bond storyline for the next 10 to 20 years. Remarkable...

I saw this movie in the cinema and was eagerly awaiting the Blu-Ray release. After viewing the disc played back on my Panasonic BD Player and viewing on a 52" Pioneer plasma along with the 5.1 LPCM soundtrack I can say that this movie blew me away. Not only is this the best Bond movie to date but the transfer on Blu-Ray disc is top notch. The picture is STUNNING to say the least with every possible detail replayed in crystal clear HD and the sound is unbelievable... If you are a fan of this movie and you have a Blu-Ray set-up then I recommend you order this title today if you don't already have it in your collection.

I am not a big Bond fan but with all of the talk about this movie I decided to pick it up and am glad I did. I think the last reviewer may have gotten a lemon because this movie has beautiful picture and excellent sound. Very intertaining and one of the better movies to come out in the past few years.

Hi,

I have the Sony Playstation 3 as the Blu-ray disc player and it is connected through HDMI cable to Sony XBR 2 46 inch's full 1080P HDTV and I have experienced a lot of active dots in the whole picture in 2 movies (Casino Royal & Mission Impossible 3). The dots clearly appear when the movie is shot at nighttime and on sold materials. However, I thought that I had a problem with my TV/HDMI cable but I have tried the XBOX 360 HD DVD player on the TV (Last Samurai & King Kong) and came up with a shocking result:

1. The Picture was 100 % Clear (Full of Life).

2. There were no dots in the picture (Very smooth).

3. The Movie colors were realistic as if you were sitting along side with the cast.

4. I viewed the movies on 1080i HD output and gave a whole different meaning for perfection compared to the Playstation 3 1080P Blu-ray player.

Try it and you will fall in love with HD DVD.

Regards,

Hesham

This is defiantly the best Bond move to come out so far. The fighting in it was much better then with Pierce Brosnan (I realize that doesn't say a whole lot, but it is really good anyways). I like how he didn't have to use all these strange and impossible to make gadgets. The only slightly negative things I could think of to say about it is the Aston Martin doesn't get enough screen time and that when you think the movie is almost over you find out there is more to the story which makes it feel a little longer then it is.

All in all this is a great movie that any action movie lover will enjoy, regardless of wither or not they liked any of the other Bond movies (because I don't really care for them).
