Author: Guest Ellen Barrett, the instuctor, is absolutely great. She gives good instruction on correct form, she breaks down the movements before going full force, and is all around a postive instructor. Without Barrett, I believe the video would have fell flat. She is great in all of her videos and she is definitely a major factor in which videos I purchase. A fitness video is not great without a great insctructor.
In my opinion, this fitness video would be great to do during strength training sessions. Ones' heart rate will not be elevated high enough for it to be considered a cardio session. Pilates are definitely a major factor of the video with yoga being focused on here and there. Core strengthening and overall toning is definitely what one will achieve if they stick with this video. The exercises are easy to follow because Barrett gives great instruction, and slowly breaks down the movements before going into full force.
I would recommend this video to those who are new to pilates and to those who are looking for a video to supplement/complement their regular strength training sessions. It would be a great video for a "break day."
I also recommend Crunch - Burn & Firm Pilates and Crunch - Fat Burning Pilates. They also feature Ellen Barrett and are great for cardio sessions.
Author: Guest I just did this workout this morning and I really liked it. I kept popping and snapping(but in a good way), even though I workout regularly. So, I knew I was getting a good stretch/workout. It made me feel good when I was done.
I'll definitely do this one regularly.
Author: Guest I was actually going to wait for this to become available on Amazon, but happened to spot it at Wal-Mart. I purchased it and tried it out the next morning. I consider myself to be moderate in the exercise department. I did not feel like I had done much of anything after the workout, but when I awoke the next morning. My lower abs and inner thighs are a bit sore. I will keep at this. It is a Yoga Pilates blended workout. I love Ellen Barrett as an instructor. I have two of her Crunch Pilates workouts and I have to say she is an excellent instructor. I am going to keep at it and see how if any slimming down occurs.
