Walt Stanchfield (1919-2000) began work for Walt Disney Studios in the 1950s. His work can be seen in films like Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, and Peter Pan. He was a master animator and once a week for ten years, he held an in-house drawing class for his fellow animators. 'Drawn to Life' is based on the 193 beautifully illustrated and highly entertaining lecture notes of those classes. They embody the entire system of Stanchfield's teaching - with valuable advice, critical comment, and inspiration for every student of the arts and completely relevant to the contemporary animation or fine arts professional.
