Author: Guest I have read a few of Denise Austin's books. Frankly, I think her methods are a bit antiquated. The Glycemic Load index that she bases her entire book on is really just a reinvention of the glycemic index diet. Despite the fact that the glycemic load is an improved version of the glycemic index it simply isn't enough to base an entire book on. Frankly, books that do this better are the LA SHAPE DIET or WINNING BY LOSING. All in all, I think Denise is outdated and derivative. Wouldn't waste money on this one.

Author: Guest I really like Denise Austin and I really like what she has to say in this book, it seems to me to be more truth and less sensational than the other popular diet books. The trouble I have found is that I am a finicky eater and there are a lot of foods I do not care for, most of which are in the recipes. If you like a lot of variety in your foods, you probably will like the recipes but for me there are very few recipes I will be likely to try. The bad thing is that she encourages you to follow her plan with the recipes because they are each balanced to follow her plan and if you make the recipes the way she tells you to in the other you are supposed to, then that is part of the plan. But it appears to me that the plan is basically out the window if I were to change each of the recipes to suit my tastes. So, I would not say the book is useless because I like what she has to say and I like the fact that she encourages exercise along with it but for me, the recipes are no good.

Author: Guest I am not keen of the layout of this book. She has the meal plans layed out for 4 weeks and then the recipes are broken into seperate breakfast, lunch and dinner chapters with the corresponding day above. I LOVE her book Target Female Fat Zones. In that book she has a daily meal plan, total calories targets of 1400, 1600 or 1800 (the carb book has similar). In the Target Zone book she also has a useful tool of a shopping list for the week which this book lacks so you have to go through and figure it out for yourself. The added bonus in the TFFZ book is the different exercises well layed out in progression. I decided to get the book from the library and take the recipes that I like rather than buy the book as it is not as well layed out as my Target Female Fat Zone book. Save your money and get her Target FF Zone book - - it's more bang for your buck and will help you get in shape AND lose weight!

Author: Guest Denise has thought outside the box and what is "popular" and instead focused on nutrition and health. The meals supplied within are easy to follow and very good. The exercise plan is very simple and not time consuming - thus working folks are able to comply.
It is definitely a must buy!
