Just a warning to buyers of books - look at the size of the book you are buying. I was disappointed to receive such a small book. Being a teacher reading these to my class was a challenge because of the small size, pages, pictures etc.

This was a great book for a young child, because it's not too long so it keeps their attention pretty well. It doesn't have too much going on, so it's perfect to read to an infant. My 3 month old will actually sit on my lap through most or all of the book. Later, it will be a good book to help him learn, because it has short and simple sentences.

This book is so special for children and for adults! Harold creates his own magical world with only a simple crayon. It promotes the wonder of imagination in children, and is truly a classic book. Every child should own this book (and that goes for adult sized children too!)

My children loved this book even though I was doubtful after seeing that the pictures are only in black and purple (the crayon drawings) but I was happily surprised when they asked me to read it repeatedly. I think it's a great bedtime story. Highly recommended for ages 3 - 6.
