Product Description
Ben Stiller leads an all-star cast including Robin Williams and Dick Van Dyke in this hilarious blockbuster hit. When good-hearted dreamer Larry Daley (Stiller) is hired as night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, he soon discovers that an ancient curse brings all the exhibits to life after the sun sets. Suddenly, Larry finds himself face-to-face with a frisky T. rex skeleton, tiny armies of Romans and cowboys and a mischievous monkey who taunts him to the breaking point. But with the help of President Teddy Roosevelt (Williams), Larry may just figure out a way to control the chaos and become a hero in his son's eyes. Boasting jaw-dropping special effects and laugh-out-loud moments, Night at the Museum is your ticket to nonstop fun!

Fan's of Ben Stiller won't be disappointed by this, his most recent outing. I watched this with my two children and found it a great experience. The story is basic: Stiller takes on a job as a night watchman in the local museum and stumbles across a plot to commit a crime whilst all the artifacts come to life past midnight. The comedy is slapstick, with Stiller's dead pan rhetoric steering the show and the plot holds few surprises. But this film's strength is that it doesn't take itself too seriously and entertained my family for an afternoon. Can't ask for much more, can you?

Recommended.

This is Ben Stiller at his best. I took my 5 children to this movie not knowing what to expect, and what I came out with was that I never stopped laughing. It was a movie that my entire family liked.

To think: a security gaurd, Ben Stiller, faces a challenge at work that makes him a better person with his son and in life. This is funny and inspirational.

Lots of fun, and a great cast.

We took our students to see this movie in December. I thought it was pretty good. Robin Williams was his usual funny self and Ben Stiller was great as the security guard.

After the museum closes, the exhibits come to life because of an ancient artifact. While at first the movie might seem its going on and on at a slow pace, it picks up. It's a good movie for kids and adults.

"Night at the Museum" is director Shawn Levy's follow-up to his unoriginal remake of "The Pink Panther," but thankfully the new film benefits from an array of great actors - Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Bill Cobbs, Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney. One good thing is "Night at the Museum" lets these talented players show us what they can do. The film's script is disjointed, but when it allows the actors to bring their best tricks to the otherwise weak story, the film becomes very funny.

If you have seen the trailer of the film, you know the story except the last 30 minutes. Ben Stiller is Larry, down-on-his-luck divorced father of a nice boy, who is employed as night watch at the museum, where he learns that the exhibitions there can really move. The first half of the film is at times dull, I am afraid, but wait for the chase-with-the-T-Rex sequences and the silly slap-fighting with a naughty monkey. They are silly but fun.

Despite its several funny set-pieces, however, the film sometimes misses the chances to make us laugh more. The three veterans are wasted (their best scenes are in fact in the end credit, where they can be seen dancing to the music); the subplot about Robin William's `Teddy Roosevelt' is underwritten; and the role of Carla Gugino doesn't make much sense. As to the special effects, well, sorry, but I didn't see very special about them.

After all "Night at the Museum" takes no risks and its Ben Stiller is much restrained, avoiding the raw and vulgar types of gags seen in "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story." The film is an enjoyable family picture, though.

Ben Stiller is a frustrated inventor and Dad. When his son's disgusted with him for not keeping a job, he's got to make things work out. Little does he know, the museum where he's taken a job as night watchman comes alive after dark. This time, he's got to make the job work, but the museum's inhabitants are not going to make it easy--especially the senior guards he replaced. This is a fun film for the entire family. Worth seeing at least once.
