I purchased this book after my children (4, 5) developed an interest in collecting sea glass after finding their first pieces on the beach. This summer we collected pounds of the stuff on vacation, and the children couldn't wait to get home to the book to see if they had found any rare colors (we found gray, pink and black!).
The photos are beautiful and the information is so comprehensive and interesting that I often find myself toting it round the house to browse its pages. It tells you about colors, where the glass may have come from, what the glass may have been before it became a shard, and countless other fascinating tidbits.
It's such a lovely book that it sits on the table at the entrance to my home with an apothecary jar containing our favorite pieces of sea glass next to it.
I highly recommend it as a beautiful and interesting book and as a great reference. Now if I could just find that elusive piece of red or orange sea glass!

This a wonderful book - whether you are a sea glass collector or not! The photography is beautiful and there is a wealth of information for both the serious and novice collector. I immediately looked through my collection for "finds" and can't wait to get back to the beach to find more.
