Own Your Own Corporation : Why the Rich Own Their Own Companies and Everyone Else Works for Them (Rich Dad's Advisors (Paperback))

Description

Product Description
Personal-finance author and lecturer Robert Kiyosaki developed his unique economic perspective through exposure to a pair of disparate influences: his own highly educated but fiscally unstable father, and the multimillionaire eighth-grade dropout father of his closest friend. The lifelong monetary problems experienced by his "poor dad" (whose weekly paychecks, while respectable, were never quite sufficient to meet family needs) pounded home the counterpoint communicated by his "rich dad" (that "the poor and the middle class work for money," but "the rich have money work for them"). Taking that message to heart, Kiyosaki was able to retire at 47. Rich Dad, Poor Dad, written with consultant and CPA Sharon L. Lechter, lays out his the philosophy behind his relationship with money. Although Kiyosaki can take a frustratingly long time to make his points, his book nonetheless compellingly advocates for the type of "financial literacy" that's never taught in schools. Based on the principle that income-generating assets always provide healthier bottom-line results than even the best of traditional jobs, it explains how those assets might be acquired so that the jobs can eventually be shed. --Howard Rothman

I knew there was something wrong with my corporate job . . . it was one of the largest companies in the world, I was promoted regularly, and people were impressed with my standing. So why did I feel like my paycheck was always shrinking? The responsibilties of my coporate career grew as fast as my tax obligations! I was feeling so financially strained, friends started teasing me for being "cheap". They all thought I made a lot of money and by most people's standards, I did. I really couldn't explain what was happening to me until I read this book. Be warned! If you had parents who encouraged you to get good grades, so you can get a good job, you might be a little upset with them after reading this book. Robert Kiyosaki is a wonderful story teller. He explains the financial path we're taught in school and by our parents and then presents a different option. He doesn't teach get quick schemes or any one method. His goal is to change your outlook on personal wealth and he's very effective. I highly recommend this book.

Learn about investing. That is the message in this book and it is very well said.

After 4 years olf college and 12 years in the corporate world, I have been corrected. I sold my overpriced home that was eating me alive, moved into a smaller more affordable home and used the difference to buy some rental properties and invest in tax lien certificates and mutual funds.

I also started a home based business, fired my BOSS and now own my own life and it feels so goooood!

Thank you Robert. Your book inspired me to take action.

Robert Kiyosaki will take you to the top of a mountain and show you a veiw you wouldn't believe existed. And when you come back down you will never see life the same. If you are discouraged and frustrated with where your life is going. Wanting to change but having no idea where to start. Wanting to believe there is more to life than the day to day grind of a job you hate. This is the book for you!! This is NOT a get rich quick book. You won't read this book and find it all better. But you will get a new perspective, an opening of your mind to the possibilities, and when you walk down the street you will see things you never saw before and opportunities that you never before considered. My husband and I read this book together we are now moving in a completely different direction and its exciting.
