| If you failed to get on the bus when the Doodlebops released their first CD in 2005, chances are there's no getting out of the rockin' and boppin' this time. Especially if your toddler, like so many toddlers, scoots closer to the TV each time the 'Bops theme music kicks in. Don't sweat what may initially appear a downward spiral into utter Doodlebop domination within your household, though: Deedee, Rooney, and Moe, despite their clownish, cotton candy-ish appearances, are capable of real musical moments, and they're also pretty good pop singers. Sure, songs like "Wobbly Whoopsy" are cloying, and yes, the tweet-load of bird noises in the "Bird Song" can grate. The flip side is that whoever's in charge of the 'Bops recording career knows how to put together a slick-sounding record, and chances are you'll find yourself singing along and not even hating yourself for it. If Barney set the bar for unlistenably bad kids' music, the 'Bops hover far, far beneath it--look past your prejudice toward songs with such titles as "Gibble Gobble," if you can, and get grooving. If you don't do it now, you might not be so lucky next time. --Tammy La Gorce Editorial Descriptions are usually submitted by the manufacturers, publishers and authors. Contact u
