| Join Ernie at The Furry Arms Hotel for a musical lesson in just how useful counting can be. When Ernie finds and returns a misplaced key, he uses his knowledge of numbers to return the key to the correct guest. As Ernie begins to learn about the hotel business, he finds many common situations in which counting is essential. Throughout the 30-minute video, Ernie and his friends help children learn to count from 1 to 20 with such songs as the jazzy "That's How the Numbers Go," an original version of the Chorus Line show tune "One," and "Rap Song #11." Favorite Sesame Street characters Elmo and The Count are joined by new characters including Ding the Dinger, a furry fellow with a bell on his head, and Benny, the bellboy that responds to Ding the Dinger's dings. Children as young as 18 months will bounce happily along with the catchy tunes and 2-year-olds will be inspired to count aloud with Ernie. Kids up to age 5 will hone their counting skills and laugh at the increasingly frustrated Benny as he delivers everything from 1 bucket of ice to 15 stampeding elephants! If you're looking for a fun video that teaches counting skills, here it is. --Tami Horiuchi Editorial Descriptions are usually submitted by the manufacturers, publishers and authors. Author: Guest I wish CTV would consider reissuing "Sesame Street" as a chronological series, starting with "Season One," and working their way to the present... I would love to see the old episodes as they were originally broadcast, not with a few select bits chopped up into the new, modern mix. The old shows were so wonderful... plus that awful, whiny Elmo was nowhere to be seen! Anyway, that's my wish as a Sesame Street kid who now has a kid of my own... PS - yay, Ernie!

Author: Guest I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old. While I was watching it with her, I noticed segments from when I was her age watching sesame street on tv. She loves this dvd.

Author: Guest The screaming bunny is just terrible. He's not funny, and he introduced my daughter to downright meanness. I'd sell this dvd, but I don't want it to affect any other kids!

Author: Guest This is a great DVD - my daughter is 19 months and enjoys to watch it. It is classic Sesame Street - catchy songs and great characters.

Author: Guest I have nothing but praise for the 1, 2, 3 Count With Me video (hosted by Ernie, not Elmo). For the sake of comparison, I do not hold Sesame Street's Do the Alphabet video (hosted by Big Bird) in high regard. In 1, 2, 3 Count With Me the story cleverly centers around work at the Furry Arms Hotel and with great comic relief shows children practical applications for using numbers. I bought the video when my son was two years old. My children, currently ages 4 1/2 and 2, learned number recognition and numeric order reliably thanks to the catchy theme song and clips highlighting specific numbers. Now that my oldest child is successfully learning addition, I see in a new light the importance of reinforcing numerical order (adults take it for granted). Educational value aside, this video makes them laugh out loud too.
