Kids' Favorite Songs kicks off with a cackle-worthy parody of Bob Dylan doing "Old McDonald," and from there the groovy gags keep comin' 'round the mountain. Everywhere Elmo turns on Sesame Street monsters spontaneously burst into song, and all because they want him to feature their favorite tunes on his forthcoming radio countdown. For Telly, winnowing the hits to one is akin to Cookie Monster choosing between a macaroon and a figgie bar: at first he's sure that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" lights his fire, but then he says bye-bye to a black sheep. The street heaves a collective sigh pavementward when word comes down that the countdown is strictly a numbers gig, no music involved. Only Sesame Street could weave well-loved musical numbers around a simple numbers lesson with such wacky pizzazz, making this a countdown that's no letdown for high-spirited parent-preschooler combos. --Tammy La Gorce

My 18 month triplets love Sesame Street videos, but this isn't one of their favorites. It may be too advanced for them, they still like Baby Songs (Good Night & Animals) better. Much better. I think because they have so many children singing pieces of the songs, they don't recognize the songs.

Sound quality is very bad. We have the VHS version of Kids Favorite Songs II for over a year and the kids love it. We wanted to get part one to complete the collection and thought a DVD copy would last longer. But because of the poor sound quality we have hardly used it since purchasing it a couple of weeks ago.

I wish CTV would consider reissuing "Sesame Street" as a chronological series, starting with "Season One," and working their way to the present... I would love to see the old episodes as they were originally broadcast, not with a few select bits chopped up into the new, modern mix. The old shows were so wonderful... plus that awful, whiny Elmo was nowhere to be seen! Anyway, that's my wish as a Sesame Street kid who now has a kid of my own...

Wonderful. My daughter was a little girl when Sesame Street first debuted......Now her children will know the same joy she did singing along with the characters!
