Author: Guest I bought this CD for my teenage daughter and didn't see the parental warning because it was covered up by the "Special Edition" sticker. Thank goodness I listened to it first! I usually end up liking some of the songs on my daughter's CDs because I end up listening to them all the time, but this CD is totally WORTHLESS. Even if you remove the profanity - which is totally pointless to begin with because it adds nothing to the music - the only thing left is a bunch of cheerleader music....and that's not what people have come to expect from Avril Lavigne. My daughter was eagerly anticipating the release of this CD and she is really disappointed. Shame on you Avril for cashing in on your name and releasing TRASH!

Author: Guest WHEN WE FIRST PUT THIS CD ON, WE HAD TO LOOK TWICE BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE BROOKE HOGAN OR ASHLEY TISDALE. IT DOES NOT EVEN SOUND LIKE AVRIL. I HAVE OVER 3400 CDS AND AVRIL'S FIRST TWO CDS ARE IN THE TOP 200 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. THIS ALBUM WILL BE KNOWN AS ONE OF THE WORST. WORSE THAN ANY BRITNEY ALBUM. GET ASHLEE SIMPSON INSTEAD,HER CDS ROCK AT LEAST. WE PLAYED THIS 4 TIMES AND COULD NOT FIND ANY GOOD SONGS. EVERY SONG ON HER FIRST TWO CDS WAS EITHER GOOD OR GREAT. WHAT WENT WRONG?? THIS IS DISPOSABLE THROWAY BUBBLEGUM POP AT IT'S WORST. WE WISH AVRIL HAD DONE A COUNTRY OR CHRISTIAN CD EVEN, THAN THIS PAP.LET US HOPE AVRIL MAKES A ROCK, PUNK, METAL ALBUM NEXT AND TAKES SOME FEEDBACK AND ADVICE FROM FANS, AND MUSICIANS.WE HOPE AVRIL GETS DIFFERENT BETTER PRODUCERS AND BETTER MUSICIANS AND A LITTLE CONSTRUCTIVE HELP WRITING SONGS. AVRIL WE LOVE YOU STILL. WE ARE FANS AND WILL STILL BUY YOUR NEXT CD, BUT ONE MORE LIKE THIS COULD PUT YOU ON BROADWAY WITH DEBBIE GIBSON. STILL GREAT FANS YET. JOHN FREES, GALVESTON, TEXAS

Author: Guest I CANT BELIVE THIS ALBUM IS GETTING 3 STAR REVIEWS!
I love it!
Whenever I lisen to it, it puts me in such a good mood.
Its like one disk full of positivity. Youll find yourself humming every one of these songs at some point after you buy the cd. Its catchy, fun, bratty, agressive, in your face, rocky, poppy. Its really everything you could ever want. I love this album, and i dont see why everyone else isnt feeling the same way.
The ballads are excellent!
The boy bashing songs, certainly bash the boys,
The pop songs, are like a package of pop rocks.
I dont see the problem.
Really its a great cd. All my friends and including my self own this disk, and are damn happy. End of story.

Author: Guest I bought the special edition of this CD. I loved the songs. I've never been an Avril fan but this album had an angry, scream 'I hate you' at the top of your lungs vibe to it so I did really love this album. I love angry music. She also experiments with different styles she's never tired before such as dance and a little rap. I also loved songs such as I Don't Have To Try which show her as wearing the pants. The whole album is angry. The problem? well for one thing the DVD that came with the special edition showed that she didn't feel a single thing she wrote but rather just wrote whatever she came up with while she was drunk. She almost seemed to not care about this album at all. She acts like this is just some dumb homework assignment that she doesn't want to do so she is going to make it into a huge joke. I can't respect that. Especially when the tone is so strong. The music is not bad though. I hated Let Go and Under My Skin was so-so. I feel like this is her best work.
The best tracks are: I Don't Have To Try, I Can Do Better, The Best Damn Thing, Runaway, and Everything Back But You.

Author: Guest As many have noted...be warned...this is an edited version. While you may like the language bleeped, it stills affects the musical flow... (I bought the full version "deluxe" with DVD insert. There is nothing on this that matches the best songs from Avril's first two albums. There is some good, solid rock-on rock 'n' roll with waves of sound. It's worth a listen. However, this CD is a step back, a small step, but nonetheless. It seems derivative of what went before, without doing anything special. Lavigne consolidates here rather than moves forward. Regarding the language issue on which many have commented....I'm not a prude, but you have to wonder at her stupidity in being this foul. It serves no purpose. It's "faux" cool. If she can't be cool and can't write lyrics without doing that, maybe she's in fact not very cool and not very good. Again, it's not a matter of prurience. It's more a question of "why?" When you drop so many verbal bombs, it serves no purpose other than shock value. It diverts attention from everything else. It's just pointless crudity. No upside. All pretension.
