| First popularized by Daniel Goleman in his book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ, the concept of emotional intelligence is now widely accepted, not only within the psychological arena, but also, ever-increasingly, within the business world. In The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book, authors Bradberry and Greaves outline techniques anyone can use to achieve goals in an easier and more fulfilling way, improve relationships, enhance health, and become more accomplished in the work force. Starting with a discussion on what emotional intelligence (EQ, for short) is and how it impacts our lives, Bardberry and Greaves then provide readers with instructions for determining their own EQ via the books companion Web site (the passcode for doing so can be found on the inside of the books dust jacket). They also provide a variety of ways readers can increase their EQ and put it to use in their personal and professional lives. Based on research with more than 500,000 people, The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book is exactly that, a quick and easy-to-read resource that empowers readers to master their EQ and more effectively incorporate it into all aspects of their daily lives. Author: Guest I'm always looking for something useful and research based to share with my team in order to help everyone be their best (including yours truly). This book was a hit across the board because it gave us a common vocabulary to discuss emotional intelligence and the author's research in corporate America is compelling. I found the book very applicable, practical, and pragmatic. Not a bunch of lofty ideals, just new perspective on the common sense of how people interact, written in an entertaining and (more importantly) memorable way. The online EQ test is also a nice value-add.

Author: Guest If you don't know the difference between your I.Q. and your E.Q. and how much it matters in the workplace, then read this book--especially if you're a supervisor, manager, director or CEO. There's even an on-line test to see how you rate.
Run--don't walk--and get this book. Better yet: order it right now on Amazon :-) (Your employees will thank you!)

Author: Guest This is the most thought-provoking book I've read in a long time. Without being simplistic, it introduced me to so many interesting things I could use to my benefit. Being intellectually smart is surely a strong advantage in our society, but it doesn't say nearly as much as your control and awareness over your own emotions. Have you ever wondered why you have emotions, how your brain works to process them, and how you can use them to your own advantage? I've never read a book that so clearly explains how it all works and what to do with it.

Author: Guest I wasn't familiar with the authors, but bought the book after reading the description and the amazing endorsements from the Dalai Lama and Stephen Covey. I was not disappointed! It's fun to read and has an enormous variety of invaluable, fact-based information which helped me with relationships and my career.

Author: Guest A friend recommended this book to me after reading about it in the Washington Post. Then, I saw one of the authors interviewed on TV, so I figured I better give it a look and am so glad that I did! It's an amazingly insightful and well-researched look at our emotions that covers new research collected during the last few years that is quite compelling. Offers many insights into how our mind works and how emotions play a role in thinking, learning and maintaining your health. Good solutions also for managing the destructive thoughts that enter the mind. Worth triple the price !!
