Description

Product Description

The bestselling author ofThe O'Reilly Factor, The No Spin Zone, and Who's Looking Out for You? talks straight to kids this time. He is as demanding, direct, and wry as ever -- but he's also more revealing too, sharing candid snapshots of his own childhood throughout.

Bill O'Reilly, a former schoolteacher, now an award-winning broadcast news journalist, husband, and father of two, joins forces with an experienced educator to bring you, America's youth, a code of ethics by which to live. In this latest book, Bill takes to task bullies, cheaters, advertisers who target you irresponsibly, and parents who fight for their children to win undeserved honors instead of earning them on their own merit.

He lays bare the unvarnished truths about sex, money, smoking, drugs, alcohol, and friends. What he has to say about these issues may very well surprise you. He offers coping devices for those enduring a divorce, struggling with teacher, parent, or sibling relationships, and planning their futures. He also shares wisdom on such subjects as death, politics, and God.

Whether you take the tests he's provided, take the advice he doles out, or just take a cue from the personal stories he shares, you're bound to make smarter choices in your life, and that's all Bill asks for.

Unlike most subhuman varmint of the nether regions of reactionary liberalism/socialism who robotically tarnish O'Reilly because of surrender to their stupidly hysterical misguidance that he's a "conservative," I actually did my homework by squandering my precious time with O'Reilly's infantile attempt at child psychology and am a reliable Factor watcher--meaning I'm more credible if I criticize O'Reilly than some commie, peacenik socialist-leftie who does so as a reflex action. As much as it disheartens me to admit this since I firmly believe O'Reilly--unlike the elitist, derisively pro-terrorist and anti-American, anti-profiling, anti-Patriot Act liberal/mainstream media--cares unmistakably deeply about his viewers/readers and the impact of open and fair government on them. Nonetheless, despite O'Reilly may well also care about teenagers, his "book" impersonates more a cash-out exploitation of his name-brand status to sucker gullible kids into buying his elementarily unoriginal advice-doling.

Fantastic!

Best book I've ever read - I'm pretty sure.

Not since Jonathan Swift penned "A Modest Proposal" has satire been so deftly inflected. The "insights" that the authors' "impart" are cleverly disguised so as to appear to be simple mindedly contrived and transparent blatherings of a self absorbed egomaniac right down to the "eyewitness reports". Magnificent! Look close - I think the old balding guy right there on the cover has his tongue in his cheek.

Don't be embarrassed if you're taken in at first but upon reflection, no one can take this seriously - especially a teenager. Even I was "fished in" that this was just a lame attempt by two out of touch geezers to counsel (UGTBK) America's youth and make a quick buck, but there's no way - it simply can't be as stupid as it reads - it's got to be genius! I mean really! How many times can a man mention his own fame and fortune and not be kidding? And the tone is so condescending and patronizing that it's got to be a joke! Frankly, the veil slipped a little there but still, it'll have you rolling with laughter! Brooks and Riner, Martin and Lewis, Cheech and Chong and now O'Reilly and Flowers! "Who's on first?" Bill O'Reilly - that's who! Bravo!

However, on the outside chance that I'm wrong and this is in fact just a sad glimpse into the head of a pompous fool that thinks he's a "smart operator" then save your money. If that's the case, then it really just stinks (either way, I'm glad I got mine as a gift). But if I'm right (and my gut says I am) this is just too goofy to be anything but a spoof and it's HILARIOUS!! Remember the old "Ray Jay Johnson Junior" guy? It's as funny as that -but with a hip new edge - like the old bag who raps on that Adam Sandler movie about the wedding singer! Nothing funnier than an old guy trying to be cool. Fuh shizzle!

Franken must be green with envy!!

This is laughable. If you cannot see through the utter hypocracy of this farce of a human being, you should be reading some real self help books. The book offers nothing. Love your kids and spend time with them, and don't be gullable. Case closed

I purchased two of "The O'Reilly Factor for Kids" for each of our two granddaughters age 11 and almost 13 years old. The first one to read the book was the 13 year old. She is continuing to read the book, but it opened her eyes and she said it made her look at things differently. It will help her through these trying teen years at school and life. I would recommend it to all pre-teens.
