* Bright colors that attract the eye and cute smiling critters help develop the sense of sight.
* The different textures develop the sense of touch.
* The interesting sounds develop the sense of hearing.
* As baby feels, looks and listens, he develops his sense of touch, vision and hearing and the coordination between them.
Gross Motor Skills
* The brightly colored mushroom with contrasting colors and smiling face peeping from the window encourages baby, lying on his tummy, to lift his head and look at it, thereby contributing to strength his neck and shoulder muscles.
* At about 5 months, baby will begin leaning on one hand while batting the toy with the other, as he practices shifting his weight from one arm to the other.
Fine Motor Skills
* Baby bats the toy placed in front of him.
* He holds the bee and later on will learn to turn it.
* He opens and closes the window as he practices his pinch grip. He also practices this grip when he learns to hold the antennae on the bee and the caterpillar.
* These activities help baby develop fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
Cognition
* As baby bats the toy causing it to sway, and learns to turn the mushroom or the bee perched on top, he learns about the connection between his actions (cause) and their outcome (effect).
