| If you haven't seen Hay House's Lifestyles series of gorgeous gift books, there is no better way to acquaint yourself than with publisher/author Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life. A bestseller for many years, You Can Heal Your Life has been republished with bright, beautiful illustrations in full, living color and exquisite typography--each and every page is a work of art by artist Joan Perrin Falquet. The timeless message of the book is that we are each responsible for our own reality and "dis-ease." Hay believes we make ourselves ill by having thoughts of self-hatred. She includes a directory of ailments and emotional causes for each with a corresponding affirmation to help overcome the illness. For example, the probable cause of multiple sclerosis is "mental hardness, hard-heartedness, iron will, and inflexibility." The healing "thought pattern" would be: "By choosing loving, joyous thoughts, I created a loving joyous world. I am safe and free." --P. Author: Guest If you have ever been seriously ill and been presented with this book, I am surprised y'all didn't pitch it across the room.
The last thing I needed when wiped out with mono for six months was to learn that my disease was the result of immaturity and selfishness. Thanks. Y'know, I thought it was the result of swapping some tainted saliva, but apparently Louise knows more than I.
This is not to say there are not things once can do to improve one's psychological well being when ill, or that it isn't good to lead a healthy lifestyle. It is extremely insulting however to postulate that serious illness is the result of some emotional wrongdoing on the part of the sufferer. Please, don't purchase this book for a friend who is ill. It's offensive.

Author: Guest I bought the gift set and it spoke to me right away!! The art in the book is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I got my money's worth and then some. I've had the books for over a year now and it's been life changing for the better.

Author: Guest This book is not a very easy read. The first time you read it, you think 'What in the world..?'. But deep down inside a particular sentence or concept rings a faint bell and it makes sense. Everything in the book might not apply to you right away. But there is truth in it and you definitely can use it to heal your life. Hay has come up with a unique approach to life and all it has to teach you maps your road to positivity, contentment, health and happiness. I would suggest reading it at least twice over - even randomly if that what works.

Author: Guest I wish it was disclosed that the pages of this book I purchased had earmarks and some pages were also waterlogged. I wouldn't have bought it. I could have just spent a couple of more dollars and bought the book new.
